That's the same price Woodcraft has them at, so you can avoid shipping altogether if you've got one close by. Just one question: is bronze simply a better metal than steel for planes? Is there a particular reason those models are pricier? |

I could be wrong, but perhaps bronze has more mass than iron? Not sure, but that would make some sense. I have the bronze one, and it's quite a nice little plane. |

I have a stanley low angled plane. A great little tool. While I do admit I am not much at using them anymore I have quite a plane collection. A good plane well sharpened makes music when used. I may have to get them out and sharpen them up. |

Cool Don. Thanks for the link, they seem to have good prices. Sometimes if I am really busy, I would rather order the item on line and have it delivered. Saves on gas money too! Jeff |

I guess I'll have to buy one just because it's such a good deal...you guys are going to put me in the poor house with all these great finds! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've got one of the L-N bronze low-angles, too. It is nice, but I'd suggest thinking twice before buying a bronze plane. Bronze is a much softer metal than iron. It's easily scratched, and, when dropped, easily dented (I don't think you'll have to ask how I know that!). Bronze looks and feels much nicer than iron, though, and the L-N is a smooth operating tool. Carlton |
